Extreme temperatures and other weather-related concerns resulted in lower-than-average yields but increased quality and concentrations with our three varietals at Bear Barton Vineyard.
Bear Barton Vineyard witnessed a really hot summer followed by rapid cooling in September and October, which created perfect ripening conditions for our high altitude vineyard.
The July heat dome, sent temperatures soaring to heights previously unseen in the state. Wenatchee hit 114 while Bear Barton Vineyard hit a high of 104. Even after the heat dome subsided, average temperatures remained high for the next few months. Previous to 2021, 2015 was the warmest year on record in Washington.
Wildfire smoke, which ruined the crop for some wineries in Washington during 2020, Bear Barton Vineyard did not have an issue this year or last.
The 2021 Harvest was completed on September 19th, which was three weeks earlier than 2020. Our estate GRÜNER VELTLINER, AGRIA and ZWEIGELT. Our 2021 Estate crop will be used to make our second addition REVEAL - Méthode Champenoise Sparkling Rose' set to deliver in Spring of 2024.

Made with 100% Estate Grapes from our Vineyard which are meticulously sorted and de-stemmed before going into the vats, and the controlled maceration helps with the color extraction and the development of the full aromatic richness.
